I am in the process of setting the whole house with electric lights. Previously, I've tested the Energizer Weather Ready Compact Rechargeable LED Light and loved it. But it was too bright to be used as night lights. Then I found this item ( "children Sylvania 3-in-1 Emergency Powerfailure Back Up Light, Lady Bug") that fit my needs perfectly.

Unit has a base unit (station shaped like a leaf) with AC cord, and a top unit (the 'Lady Bug'flashlight). This is intended to be placed on the desk or table, not like most other nightlights are connected to the wall directly.

As the evening light, the basic unit of a soft green glow, and Lady Bug red light (both lights when the room light). Lighting is very soothing when used in a child's bedroom, without exaggeration. Measured power consumption under 0.5W, which is quite amazing.

In the case of power failure (or if the basicunplug the unit), Lady Bug lights immediately. You can also delete the Lady Bug at any time and use it as a flashlight. The size and shape appropriate for a child to continue. There is also a push button on / off switch on the stomach Lady Bug.

I have one small complaint about the design. Three LEDs located on the head of Lady Bug (naturally), and two eyes painted on the head blocks out part of the file. But I think if the kids do not mind, then it is goodwith me.

One reviewer complained that the series tonight PalPODzzz lamp is an "electric shock hazard". But it is important to note that the unit he bought was the 'Rocket Ship' model. I checked the 'Lady Bug' basic unit of care and can not see any way to break - short of someone stepping on it. Like the AC-powered electrical appliances, if the case was broken and expose the internal circuit boards, for God's sake DO NOT TOUCH IT!
